Here at OLVP, we are more than a group of people who like to make music--we are a ministry and community passionate about pouring forth our love for Christ through song. And we’d love you to join us!
You don’t have to be able to read music or be a professional musician. Come as you are, and together we’ll grow as ministers and musicians. Keep reading below to discover more about our various ensembles and education opportunities, and please reach out to me with any questions or interest you may have. “Since Love is Lord of heaven and earth, how can [we] keep from singing?”

Cecilia Singers
(Adult Choir)
Sings at the Sunday 11am Mass
Rehearses Tuesdays 6:30-7:30pm or Wednesdays 1:15-2:15pm
and Sundays before Mass
The Cecilia Singers are our adult singers and musicians that provide music for our weekend Masses. During the week, we gather together to learn the music, draw closer to Christ through God’s Word and the words of the hymns, and pray for our needs and the needs of the world.
Because our Music Ministry is also made up of youth ensembles, all singers in the Adult Choir must first complete VIRTUS, our archdiocesan safe environment program that teaches us how we can best protect the children and vulnerable adults in our parish.
Hildegards
(Middle and High School Ensemble)
Sings the 4th Sunday of the Month at the 11am Mass
Rehearses Sundays 4:00-4:45pm
The Hildegards is an ensemble made up of middle school and high school parishioners eager to minister at Mass through song. Every Sunday during the school year, we gather together to choose music for Mass, practice, and prepare for the liturgy by discussing it in its relation to the hymns and our daily lives.
Canticles
(Grades 1-5 Choir)
Sings the 2nd Sunday of the Month at the 9am Mass
Rehearses Tuesdays 4:30-4:55pm
The Canticles make up our youngest music ministers during the school year. Through games and discussions, we learn hymns, the parts of the Mass, and how to read music. It’s a great way for our children to get involved in our parish and learn how to answer Christ’s call to serve one another.
